Possibility of rain in Majha and Doaba on Monday: IMD

MOHALI: The temperature has been rising continuously in the state. The temperature in more than half the cities have crossed 40 degrees celsius mark, while most are near 39. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of rain in Majha and Doaba on Monday and in Malwa on Tuesday-Wednesday. The Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert in this regard.

Notably, The yellow alert has been issued for Gurdaspur and Amritsar within Majha, Kapurthala and Jalandhar within Doaba and Ludhiana, Barnala, Roopnagar, Patiala, SAS Nagar, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Faridkot, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Mansa and Bathinda in Malwa.

The Meteorological Department said that the rain would not bring relief from the heat. There will be brief respite from the rain, but after that, the sun will shine and the temperature will mount. The temperature of the cities is likely to reach near 42 degree celsius in the coming days.
