CHANDIGARH: Electricity Rates have been hiked in Punjab. The revised prices will be applicable with immediate effect. The orders in this regard have been issued by the Electricity Regulatory Commission. Electricity rates have been increased by 56 paise per unit. CM Mann wrote, "The government will bear the cost of the increase in electricity rates. This will not put any burden on the common people. This will not affect even a single meter of the 600 unit scheme."
