Global Milestone: PAU Ludhiana Becomes India’s Only State Agri-Varsity in BRICS Network
The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has become the only agricultural institution from India to be inducted into the prestigious BRICS Network of Agriculture Universities.
This development makes PAU the only agricultural university from India selected for this domain, joining a select group of institutions from Brazil, Russia, China, and South Africa to collaborate on sustainable agriculture and food security."
The induction into the BRICS (Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa) network is focused on fostering international cooperation in food security and sustainable farming.
PAU joins a selected group of elite institutions from BRICS nations to collectively address urgent global agri-food challenges, including climate-resilient farming and resource conservation.
"Vice-Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal said that this inclusion reflects global confidence in PAU’s ability to turn scientific research into field-level impact.
Being the only Indian agricultural university in the network, PAU will now lead the discourse on sustainable practices.
According to the university administration, this will allow faculty and experts to develop joint research programmes and mobility frameworks focused on climate-resilient farming and resource conservation."
