Security Lapse in Chandigarh

Security Lapse in Chandigarh: In a shocking incident of security negligence, a prisoner identified as Gagandeep Singh managed to escape custody at the government hospital in Sector-32 of Chandigarh. The escape occurred after the prisoner, who had been brought from Ambala Central Jail for medical treatment, pushed a policeman and made a daring exit, leaping from the third floor of the hospital.

Gagandeep Singh, admitted to the hospital due to swallowing glass while in Ambala Central Jail, exploited a moment of vulnerability to escape custody. The incident unfolded around 1:30 am when the prisoner, in a serious medical condition, managed to push a policeman and flee from the hospital premises.

Upon learning of the escape, Ambala Police swiftly filed a complaint at Chandigarh's Sector-34 Police Station. Authorities have initiated necessary actions in response to the complaint, including registering a case against the escaped prisoner for absconding from police custody.

Chandigarh police are actively conducting a thorough investigation into the escape, utilizing CCTV footage from nearby cameras to track the movements of Gagandeep Singh. The footage is expected to provide crucial information on the direction in which the prisoner fled and aid in the ongoing manhunt.

The escape raises serious concerns about the security measures in place during the prisoner's hospitalization. The Chandigarh police are assessing the circumstances surrounding the incident to identify lapses and prevent similar occurrences in the future. In addition to the ongoing investigation, authorities are registering a case of absconding from police custody against Gagandeep Singh. The legal process is set in motion to hold the escaped prisoner accountable for his daring escape.
