In a successful operation, Punjab Police apprehends two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists
AMRITSAR: In a commendable display of vigilance and coordinated efforts, the Punjab Police have effectively thwarted a major conspiracy hatched by Lashkar-e-Taiba, a notorious terrorist organization. The operation, led by the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) Amritsar, was supported by critical intelligence inputs from Indian intelligence agencies, resulting in the arrest of two terrorists associated with the group. The breakthrough represents a significant step towards ensuring public safety and national security.
The Director-General of Police (DGP) of Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, provided details of the successful operation, underscoring the collective efforts of SSOC-Amritsar and central intelligence agencies. The operation targeted and apprehended two individuals linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, both hailing from the Jammu and Kashmir region.
During the raid, the police seized a substantial quantity of ammunition from the arrested terrorists. The confiscated arsenal included two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), two hand grenades, two magazines, a pistol with 24 cartridges, a timer switch, eight detonators, and four batteries. These recoveries are a testament to the grave intent and potential threat posed by the apprehended individuals.
The arrested terrorists were identified as accomplices operating under the umbrella of Lashkar-e-Taiba, an outfit led by Firdaus Ahmed Bhatt. This successful operation reinforces the commitment and determination of security forces to combat terrorism and maintain peace and stability within the region.
