The Akali Dal witnesses yet another rebellion, this time from within the family

Bubbi Badal joins SAD Taksali

Chandigarh, 14th march: The problems of an already troubled Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) seem to be increasing day by day. Babbi Badal, a cousin of Sukhbir Badal has left the party and has joined the rebel Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali) today. In a press conference, Babbi Badal expressed remorse over the fact the party to which he dedicated a quarter century of his life, is not his own and he has to leave it due to the degeneration in its culture.

According to Badal, the decline started in 2015. He said that under Bikram Majithia’s leadership and interference, the level of traditional Akali ideals has fallen a lot. He said, that there was not a single reason for him to leave the party, but many. ‘The straw that broke the camel’s back’ as he said was the Akali’s refusal to accept SIT findings. The Akali Dal Badal has refused to accept the findings of the SIT.

He said, that the findings of the SIT led by Justice Ranjit Singh are painful and sad. The SIT found that it was the police which fired itself on the SSP’s car. And the peaceful Sangat was fired upon, and the injured were not given proper treatment at the hospital. This, he said was inhuman. He also mentioned Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, saying he is an honest officer, and has been harassed by the Badals. For Akali dal, saving Mantaar Brar was of ultimate importance.

Babbi Badal said that he came entered Akali Dal to serve the Panth, but today, he it is clear that the Panth is not with Akali Dal (Badal). When the Panth is against the party, there is no point staying in it. This is the reason he left it. He said, that he has joined Akali Dal (Taksali) for serving the motherland and the Panth, and not for any designation or party ticket. But if the party leadership deems him fit for any responsibility, he would happily do it.

Babbi Badal assured the Taksali leadership to take Youth Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali) to every family. Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, Ratan Singh Ajnala, Bir Davinder Singh, Seva Singh Sekhwaan and other Taksali leaders were also present at the press conference.
