Farmers' Rail Roko protest in Punjab Date: While over 200 farmer unions are marching towards Delhi to protest against the Central government, emphasizing their demands, the State president of BKU (Ugrahan) Joginder Singh Ugrahan on Wednesday announced a Rail Roko protest across Punjab from 12 noon to 4 pm on Feb 15 against the alleged police and government's atrocities on farmers who are marching towards Delhi as a part of their 'Delhi Chalo' protest.

It is pertinent to mention that the police fired tear gas shells on the farmers who approached the barricades near the Shambhu Border. Likewise, a warning was issued by the police to stay away from the barricades.

Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee general secretary Sarwan Singh Pandher Mazdoor who is leading the front at the Shambhu border said that over 100 injured farmers were admitted to hospitals following the clashes at the Shambhu Border and similarly, over 30 persons were injured at Khanauri Border. Police allegedly used rubber bullets, plastic pellets, and SRL rounds against the farmers, an excessive force was being employed at the border points.

In a protest against the kind of behaviour of protesting farmers, the BKU (Ugrahan) Joginder Singh Ugrahan has announced a Rail Roko protest across Punjab from 12 noon to 4 pm on February 15.

Earlier, Rakesh Tikait also raised his voice for the second 'Delhi Chalo' call by farmers which commenced on Tuesday. Rakesh Tikait said, "If the government creates a problem for these farmers..." He further emphasized the diversity of farmer unions, stating, "There are several farmer unions, and they have different issues... If the government creates a problem for farmers marching to Delhi, we are not far from them. We are in support of them."
