Punjab Vidhaan Sabha

Chandigarh: 14th Feb: Akalis double face and dilemma evident from separate stands in House and in front of media, says Cheema Chandigarh: The bill tabled regarding long pending SGPC elections, in the Vidhaan Sabha today, by HS Phoolka, unmasked the real intentions of Akalis, said Aam Aadmi Party member and Leader Of Opposition (LoP) Harpal Singh Cheema. Talking to the media, Cheema said, that when Chied minister Captain Amarinder Singh also backed the tabled bill by HS Phoolka, the disappointed faces of Akali leaders were evident.

When the bill was passed, the Akalis could neither support, nor oppose it. Cheema also explained how he asked each Akali present, about their stand regarding the bill, whether they supported or opposed it. The clueless Akalis then turned to blame game, accusing Phoolka and Congress’s collusion over the matter. They could only render baseless allegations.

It is to be mentioned that the letter from PM in reply to Phoolka’s letter was tabled in the house yesterday, based on which the bill tabled today. Cheema said, the Akalis crossed all thresholds of shamelessness when despite of staying mute in the House, they defended the SGPC election in front of the media.
