Punjab Bomb threats Latest news: Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Amritsar, Punjab, said that investigations into the bomb threats across the state are currently underway with central agencies.

DCP Jagjit Singh Walia, speaking to the media, said that the miscreants behind the threat emails would be arrested and put behind bars soon.

In a shocking case, schools in several districts received bomb threats on Wednesday morning, on the first day of reopening after the winter vacation.

A bomb threat was received via email by a government school in Meharbanpura village in Amritsar earlier today. The email reportedly warned against the singing of the national anthem in schools.

Additionally, three schools in Moga district, DN Model School, Kot Isekhan, and Cambridge School, also received bomb threats this morning.

The email received by the schools in Moga district read, “Bomb dhamaka schoolan vich @ 12:11 te, Punjab da hul Khalistan ha.”

It continues in Punjabi as: “ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ "ਜਨ ਗਨ ਮਨ" ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ
ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜੰਗੀ ਐਲਾਨ “ਦੇਹ ਸ਼ਿਵਾ ਬਰੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਇਹੈ- ਪੜਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ (loosely translated as :In Punjab schools, instead of the Indian ‘Jana Gana Mana’, Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s war declaration ‘Deh Shiva Bar Mohe Ihai’ be taught.)”

A court in Ludhiana, Punjab, also received a bomb threat today, triggering panic on the premises. The court has received bomb threats in the past as well, with a bomb blast having occurred at the premises a few years ago.

Following the threat, the legal community at the Ludhiana court, in a press conference, demanded the strengthening of security at the court.

Some believe that the increase in bomb threats is linked to the approaching Republic Day on January 26. However, Punjab has received bomb threats in the past few months of 2025 as well
