Punjab Weather Update: IMD issues alert for dense fog at isolated places

Punjab Weather Forecast Update, Fog Alert News Today: Punjab has been witnessing a slight drop in temperature for the last few days. Earlier, the cold waves gripped the state during the morning and evening but, nowadays, people are feeling cold during the afternoon as well. In the meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for dense fog at isolated places across the state. 

According to the information, the warning for dense fog at isolated places in Punjab has been issued for Wednesday and Thursday i,e, December 13 and 14. As per the warning issued by the IMD, the warning has been issued for December 13 and 14, and not other days in this week. 

It is pertinent to mention that the minimum temperature has been dropping day by day, As compared to yesterday, December 12, a fall of -1.6 degrees Celsius in an average minimum temperature was reported on December 13. However, it was still near normal in the state. Meanwhile, the lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded in Nurmahal_KVK, Jalandhar, where the mercury level was at 4.4 degrees Celcius. 

Apart from Jalandhar, Chandigarh recorded 7.2 degrees Celcius, Chandigarh (Airport) recorded 8.6 degrees Celcius, Amritsar 4.7, Patiala 6.0, Pathankot 5.9, Bathinda 5.0, Faridkot 4.5, Gurdaspur 6.0, Ballowal Saunkhri 6.4, Barnala 5.1, Fatehgarh Sahib 7.2, Firozpur 6.1, Gurdaspur 5.5, Ludhiana 6.1, Moga 4.8, Mohali 8.8 and Ropar recorded 6.8-degree celcius.  

Considering the dense fog, that is prevailing over the state for a few days, people are advised to be cautious while driving in during the morning and evening hours. The people who drive vehicles to the office, during these hours, are advised to drive slowly.
