SRI ANANDPUR SAHIB: Arjit Sharma, a 9-year-old student of the 5th standard of Sri Dasmesh Academy of Sri Anandpur Sahib, a resident of Gambhirpur village, hoisted the tricolor flag at the Minkiani pass at a height of about 14,300 feet after completing a journey of 17 km through difficult hills and glaciers. 

Notably, Arijit Sharma appealed to the people to plant more trees and conserve water for the better future of their generation. Apart from this child, there were six other youths in this group.

Arjit said that on 10th June 2023, he started walking from village Kareri in Kangra district at 9:00 am and reached the bank of 10,000 feet high Kareri lake at 2:00 pm and spent the night there in a tent. Next day on 11th June at 5:45 am, he started the journey for Minkiani Pass, the route was a steep climb.

It is worth mentioning here that Incessant rain was making the journey more difficult. There were huge rocks and glaciers on the way. After covering an area of about 7 km, the group was able to reach Minkiani Pass around 10:00 am. This pass is located in Dhauladhar mountain range. In ancient times, people used this pass to go from Kangra district to Chamba district.
