13 People Sustained Injuries in the Accident

HOSHIARPUR: Another major accident took place in Garhshankar sub-division of Hoshiarpur on Thursday. An uncontrolled truck rammed the devotees who were going to pay obeisance on the occasion of Baisakhi at the holy shrine of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji, Shri Khuralgarh Sahib. Eight people died in this accident. Four of them died on the spot and four succumbed to their injuries at Civil Hospital Garhshankar.

The deceased have been identified as Rahul s/o Mah Pal (25), Sudesh Pal s/o Ramphal (48), Ramo s/o Sheesh Pal (15), Geeta Devi s/o Pushpinder Kumar (40), Unnati s/o. o Pushpinder Kumar (16), Shamo Devi and Santosh Devi etc. All the deceased were residents of Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. Among the deceased, five belong to the same family.

Around 13 passengers were injured in this incident. All the injured have been taken to Civil Hospital Garhshankar with the help of people. Where, five have been referred to PGI Chandigarh due to their serious condition.
