CHANDIGARH: Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has ordered a high-level inquiry into the PSTAT examination leak case. He shared this information through a tweet. Harjot Bains said that those found guilty will be prosecuted for criminal negligence.

Taking to Twitter, Harjot Bains wrote, "To maintain complete fairness in our examination process, a PS level probe has been ordered to look in to PSTET exam conducted by a third Party with A++ NAAC grade i.e. GNDU. Accountability will be fixed & those found guilty will be booked for criminal negligence."

In an another tweet, he wrote, “Further, GNDU has regretted & will re-conduct the exam without any fees. In future, have ordered my department to have a suitable clause for compensation in the MOU’s signed with third parties for compensation of the candidates in such a scenario. Why should candidates suffer."

Notably, the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) candidates alleged that 57 correct answers were highlighted (bold) out of the 60 question answer options for the social studies examination. This proves the negligence of staff and concerned officers of PSTAT examination. There is major disappointment among the unemployed teachers who appeared for the exam after so much hardwork. The question paper was prepared by experts of Guru Nanak Dev University. Along with this, errors related to Punjabi were also noticed in the exam. The opposition parties are raising questions on the Punjab government regarding negligence in conducting the examination.
