Mohali Nurse Murder Case: Lover Sentenced To Life Imprisonment, Murdered Over Marriage Pressure

2022 Mohali Nurse Murder Case Lover Sentenced To Life Imprisonment Latest News: Mohali Court has sentenced the lover of the a nurse named Naseeb Kaur, who was murdered in Mohali three years ago, to life imprisonment.
The nurse worked at a private hospital in Panchkula, and her lover Rashpal Singh, is a former policeman.
The court sentenced the convict to life imprisonment under Section 302 of the IPC and imposed a fine of 40,000 rupees. Additionally, under Section 201 of the IPC, for destroying evidence, he was sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment and fined 10,000 rupees. After the verdict, he was sent to jail.
The convict has a criminal background, although he once earned a promotion by showing bravery. However, after the murder case was registered against him, he could not be reinstated in service.
The Murder
The incident dates back to November 13, 2022, when the body of Naseeb Kaur was found under suspicious circumstances near a pond in Sohana village. The case initially puzzled the police. Eleven days after the murder, Rashpal Singh was arrested from Sector 67, Mohali.
During interrogation, he confessed that on the night of the murder, he was drinking alcohol with Naseeb Kaur. After consuming too much alcohol, Naseeb fell unconscious. When she pressured him about marriage, he got angry and strangled her. He then carried the body on a scooter and dumped it near the pond. CCTV footage captured him transporting the body.
Police investigation revealed that Rashpal and Naseeb were living together in a live-in relationship.
