After Haryana's Fatal School Bus Accident, Punjab to Check All School Vehicles

Haryana Mahendargarh School Bus Accident News: Following the fatal school bus accident in Haryana's Mahendargarh, the Punjab Government has also swung into action.

According to information, the Punjab Child Rights Commission has issued instructions to the DCs, SSPs, and Police Commissioners to check all the school vehicles in Punjab.

In compliance with the instructions, all school vehicles in Punjab will be thoroughly checked within 20 days. 

It is pertinent to mention that a four-member government-appointed panel was deployed to probe the school bus accident that claimed the lives of six students and left as many as 20 people in Haryana's Mahendragarh on Thursday.

The accident reportedly took place near Unhani village in Kanina, when the bus, carrying over 40 students from primary to secondary classes to the GL Public School, collided with a tree and overturned, the police said.

Likewise, an FIR was registered in the case while the Haryana Education Department convened a meeting regarding vehicle safety policy at 3 pm today wherein all District Education Officers, Elementary Education Officers, and Block Education Officers of the state were asked to appear for the meeting from various areas of the state via video conferencing.

As per the initial probe, several revelations were made in the school bus accident that also stated that the driver of the bus was drunk. Meanwhile, school bags, shoes, and study materials were all scattered amidst the wreckage following the school bus accident in Haryana's Mahendargarh.
