COVID-19: Two Deaths Reported in Punjab, Logs 187 New Positive Cases

MOHALI: Two deaths of Covid-19 have been reported from Ludhiana and Hoshiarpur district. The state has logged around 187 new positive cases in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases in the state has also increased to 786.

In the state, 15 patients are on level-2 oxygen support and 5 patients are on level-3 ventilator. Witnessing the hike in COVID-19 cases, the health department has also increased testing. The health department had sent 4232 samples for testing, out of which 3336 were tested.

Mohali is at the top in terms of corona cases. 199 samples were sent for testing in Mohali. Out of these 49 samples found to be positive. With the increase in testing in Jalandhar, the cases of corona have also started to surge. In Jalandhar, 401 samples were sent for testing, out of which 22 have identified as positive.

Notably, level-2 corona patients who are on ventilator in intensive care unit (ICU) are admitted in different private and government hospitals of Jalandhar. In Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur, 2 people have died due to Corona during the last few days.
