Punjab Rolls Out ‘E-Sanad’ Portal for Paperless Document Verification
On Monday, the Punjab Government launched "E-Sanad", a fully digital platform for the online verification and authentication of educational documents. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced the move. This marks a major relief for students, as it is set to eliminate the need for physical visits to the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) headquarters and drastically reduce waiting times for document attestation.
Currently, the manual verification process for PSEB marksheets and certificates takes anywhere between 40 and 45 days.
With the integration of E-Sanad, this timeline is expected to be reduced to just a few days.
The portal is linked with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), allowing for seamless authentication for those seeking higher education or employment abroad.
The service covers Hague Convention countries through Apostille and non-Hague countries via MEA attestation.
Minister Bains emphasised that the portal ensures transparency and prevents document tampering.
PSEB Chairman Dr Amarpal Singh said that the process is entirely paperless, with an integrated online payment gateway available at www.pseb.ac.in.
This digital leap is expected to benefit thousands of students annually, particularly those navigating the complexities of overseas immigration, by providing a globally credible, faster, and more efficient verification system.
