Punjab Weather News: Lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded at Amritsar.

Punjab Weather Update Today: Temperature continues to plunge in Punjab as dense fog and cold wave conditions continue to prevail across the state on Thursday. Punjab registered a fall of -1.7 degrees Celsius in the minimum temperature across the state.  

However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated it was below normal by -2 degrees Celsius in the state. 

In the meanwhile, the lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded at Amritsar, where the mercury level dipped to 1.4 degrees Celsius, the coldest in the state. 

According to information, Chandigarh recorded 5.3 degrees Celsius, while Chandigarh (Airport) recorded 6.5 degrees Celsius, Amritsar recorded 1.4, Ludhiana 4.6, Patiala 4.4, Pathankot 5.4, Bathinda 2.0, Faridkot 2.8, Gurdaspur 3.0, Ballowal (SBS Nagar) 3.6, Amritsar (AWS) 4.3, Barnala 3.8, Faridkot (AWS) 4.6, Fatehgarh Sahib 4.7, Ludhiana (AWS) 4.0, Samrala (Ludhiana) 5.9, Mohali 5.9, and Balachaur (SBS Nagar) recorded 3.7 degrees Celsius. 

Earlier, the India Meteorological Department had stated that the weather has been dry in Punjab and Haryana while dense fog was reported from a few places in Punjab and at isolated places in Haryana. Likewise, cold way to severe cold day conditions occurred at many places in Punjab and only a few places in Haryana. 

Similarly, the IMD had also stated that weather is very likely to be dry in the state while no large change in minimum temperature is likely during the period in the state. On the other hand, dense fog is likely at isolated places during the period. Moreover, the IMD stated that cold day to severe cold day conditions are likely at a few places on January 12 in the state.
