MRSAFPI Mohali Achieves Historic Milestone with 50 Cadets Training at NDA; Second Only to RIMC
In a remarkable achievement, 50 cadets from the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI), SAS Nagar (Mohali), are currently undergoing training at the National Defence Academy (NDA), according to an official release.
This is the highest number of cadets from the institute to be training at the NDA since its inception. Notably, three alumni are now serving as NDA instructors, shaping the next generation of leaders for the Indian Armed Forces.
The under-training NDA cadet strength at MRSAFPI Mohali is now the second highest in the country, trailing only the prestigious Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), marking a significant milestone for the institute.
Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Aman Arora lauded MRSAFPI’s training staff for bringing glory to the state and urged them to continue their exceptional performance.
Highlighting the institute’s impressive track record, the minister said that a total of 278 cadets have joined service training academies since its inception, and 181 alumni have been commissioned as officers in the Defence Services so far. He added that seven cadets will pass out from the Indian Military Academy (IMA) and Air Force Academy (AFA) on December 13, 2025, while 15 cadets are set to join the NDA and other training academies this month.
Meanwhile, admissions for the 16th course at MRSAFPI are underway, said Major General Ajay H. Chauhan, VSM (Retd), Director of MRSAFPI.
All class 10th students (males of Punjab domicile) aspiring to join the NDA through MRSAFPI Mohali can apply online until 15 December 2025 at https://recruitment-portal.in. The entrance examination is scheduled for January 4, 2026 (Sunday).
