Shah Rukh Khan’  NGO To Adopt 500 Flood Affected Homes In Amritsar Latest News: Shah Rukh Khan’s Meer Foundation will collaborate with the Amritsar-based NGO, Voice of Amritsar, to carry out flood relief work in the district, the Tribune reported.

According to the news report, Meer Foundation is a non-profit organization known for helping acid attack victims all over India.

The NGO, in collaboration with the Amritsar-based NGO, Voice of Amritsar, will carry out reconstruction work in two villages along the banks of the River Ravi, where floods have washed away homes and belongings of the residents, the report said.

Seenu Arora, founding member of VOA, has stated that the Bollywood star’s NGO approached them to collaborate in relief operations.

She added that Meer Foundation is ‘happy’ to contribute to the project submitted by VOA to distribute household goods, including beds, mattresses, gas stoves, fans, water purifiers, etc., to about 500 homes affected by floods.

“Work will begin with the two most affected,” Seenu Arora is quoted as saying in the report.

The Tribune report added that the NGO also received support from the Kolkata-based Care Foundation. The members of VOA are working with a team of doctors from AIIMS for medical relief in Amritsar and Gurdaspur.
