Third Blast Reported Near Golden Temple

AMRITSAR: Third explosion has been reported in about 6 days near the Sri Harimandir Sahib in Amritsar, Punjab. The blast took place at 12:45 am near the Langar Hall of the Golden Temple. Hearing the sound of the explosion, people panicked. The management of Sri Harmandir Sahib immediately informed the police.

The Police reached there in the night and sealed off the blast site. Forensic teams are taking samples from the spot. Three suspects including two boys and one girl have been detained in the matter. The police is interrogating them for further investigation.

Reportedly, The detained people were staying in room number 225 of the inn. A suspicious bag has also been recovered from their possession. Prior to this, explosions were reported in the Golden Temple on Saturday and Monday as well.

According to the sources, the police have also seized a letter from the spot. However, police officials did not say anything about what was written in the letter and whether it had anything to do with the blast or not.

Vikramjit Singh, manager of Sri Harmandir Sahib, confirmed the explosion and said that a loud sound was heard during the night. The blast took place in an empty space near the Langar Hall and Sri Guru Ramdas Ji Inn. No loss of life or property has been reported yet. 

After the incident, Police Commissioner of Amritsar Naunihal Singh reached the spot. He took stock of the situation but refused to divulge more details about the incident. He said, "He will be informed about the incident in the next few hours. Now let the police do the work. Now all we can say is that a loud bang was heard."
