With discharge of 4 more, no. of those recovered & discharged from PGIMER rises to 24

Four more persons including two doctors at GMCH, Sector 32 and other two from Bapu Dham cluster were discharged from PGIMER’s COVID Hospital

Chandigarh: Four more persons including two doctors at GMCH, Sector 32 and other two from Bapu Dham cluster were discharged from PGIMER’s Covid Hospital today rousing applause after their successful recovery from Covid-19.

Hailing their victory over Covid-19 and giving them a warm send off outside the NHE Covid Hospital were personally present, Prof. Jagat Ram, Director PGIMER flanked by Prof. G D Puri, Dean (Academics) & Head, Deptt. of Anaesthesia & Intensive Care, Kumar Gaurav Dhawan, DDA,  Kumar Abhay, FA, Prof. Vipin Koushal, In-charge-Covid Hospital, Prof. Ashok Kumar, Addl. Medical Superintendent & Official Spokesperson, Dr. Pankaj Arora, Deptt. of Hospital Administration, senior faculty, residents and health care workers from PGIMER’s Covid-19 team.

The discharged persons were greeted with flowers and best wishes as they exited the hospital and got into the home bound ambulances.

The Director appreciated them for their cooperation and trust in the hospital team and urged them to take forward the messages of observing precautions of wearing masks, hand washing, social distancing among the community.

“This will be your biggest service to the medical fraternity who is risking their own lives to save the lives of others,” the Director added.

Post their positive report, all the four were referred from GMCH, Sector 32 to PGIMER and were admitted here on 27th April. Though they had complications related to Covid-19, but generally they remained stable throughout. Further, with two tests coming negative consecutively, they were discharged after their stay of 14 days here at PGIMER.

The residents from Bapu Dham were pretty emotional at their send off as one of them said with folded hands, “The medical team has been the embodiment of God to us. It is because of them that we are alive today and got the opportunity to meet up our families,” as he signed off.
