Northern Railway has directed the District Commissioner (DC), Amritsar, Punjab, to close road traffic at two railway level crossing (L-Xing) gates—S-4 and C-9—for emergency railway track repairs.
As per the directions, Level Crossing Gate S-4 (Km/OHE Mast 3/9–10) on the Amritsar–Khemkaran section will remain closed to road traffic from 7:00 AM on 12 February 2026 to 8:00 PM on 14 February 2026. During this period, road traffic will be diverted through Gate Nos. S-3, C-7, and B-6.
Similarly, Level Crossing Gate C-9 (Km/OHE Mast 5/21–22) on the same section will remain closed from 7:00 AM on 16 February 2026 to 8:00 PM on 17 February 2026. Traffic during this closure will be diverted through Gate Nos. C-7 and B-6.
The District Commissioner has also been directed to deploy adequate staff to ensure smooth traffic management and facilitate uninterrupted track maintenance work at both sites.
