Cold way to severe cold day conditions occurred at many places in Punjab and only a few places in Haryana.

Punjab Weather Update Today: Amid dense fog and cold wave conditions, Punjab on Thursday continues to register a fall in the minimum temperature. Punjab recorded a fall of -0.9 degrees Celsius across the state, adding to the value of cold conditions across the state. However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated it was still near normal in the state. 

In the meanwhile, the lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded at Faridkot, where the mercury level dipped to 3.6 degrees Celsius. 

According to information, Chandigarh recorded 6.4 degrees Celsius, while Chandigarh (Airport) recorded 7.8 degrees Celsius, Amritsar recorded 5.6, Ludhiana 6.3, Patiala 6.5, Pathankot 7.0, Bathinda 4.2, Faridkot 3.6, Gurdaspur 4.5, Ballowal (SBS Nagar) 5.4, Fatehgarh Sahib 6.9, Ludhiana (AWS) 5.0, Samrala (Ludhiana) 7.8, Mohali 6.9, and Balachaur (SBS Nagar) recorded 5.4.  

Earlier, the India Meteorological Department had stated that the weather has been dry in Punjab and Haryana while dense to very dense fog was being reported from a few places in Punjab and at isolated places in Haryana. Likewise, cold way to severe cold day conditions occurred at many places in Punjab and only a few places in Haryana. 

Similarly, the IMD had also stated that weather is very likely to be dry in the state while no large change in minimum temperature is likely during the period in the state. On the other hand, dense fog is likely at isolated places during the period. Moreover, the IMD stated that cold day conditions are likely at a few places on January 11 in the state.
