AMRITSAR: In a significant win against the ongoing battle with narcotics, the Punjab Police successfully apprehended three individuals in Amritsar, confiscating a staggering 12 kilograms of heroin in a high-stakes anti-narcotics operation. Punjab's Director General of Police (DGP), Gaurav Yadav, disclosed this breakthrough, highlighting the invaluable role of intelligence in orchestrating the operation.

Acting swiftly on the intelligence gathered, the Amritsar rural police successfully tracked down and arrested the three accused, who were found to be in possession of the substantial consignment of heroin. The street value of the seized heroin is estimated at Rs 84 crore.

Further details reveal that the arrested individuals were reportedly on the brink of delivering this significant heroin consignment, with connections to smugglers operating out of Pakistan. As a response to this alarming situation, an FIR under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been officially registered at the Lopoke police station.
