Miscreants opened fire at migrant workers walking along a road in Punjab’s Moga district, leaving two of them critically injured.

According to information received, the incident occurred near the Paras Masala Factory on the Moga–Zira road when the labourers were on their way to work.

Visuals of the attack have surfaced online, showing the assailant(s) opening fire on several labourers walking along the roadside without any apparent provocation; however, Rozana Spokesman could not verify the video.

The injured have been identified as Ashok Kumar and Sabodh, residents of Sitamarhi district in Bihar. Ashok Kumar reportedly sustained three bullet injuries to his leg. Both injured labourers were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

A companion of the victims stated that unidentified persons arrived on a scooter and began firing. Police reached the spot soon after and have initiated an investigation into the matter.

The incident has raised serious questions about public safety and security in the area.
