Punjab Weather Update: IMD Issues Yellow Alert for One District; Rainfall Likely Over Eastern Districts

Punjab Weather Updates Aug 7 Latest News: A yellow alert is in place for Patiala, Punjab, issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Chandigarh in its nowcast, warning of light rain, accompanied by light thunderstorms with maximum wind speed of less than 40 kmph, on Thursday.

The nowcast is valid up to 4 PM today.    

No alerts have been issued for the remaining districts of the state in either the nowcast or the forecast for today, as per the latest updates.
Additionally, the weather is likely to remain pleasant as no weather alerts have been issued until August 11.
However, the northeastern and eastern districts of Punjab are expected to continue receiving rainfall for the next four days, with overcast conditions predicted statewide on August 11.

Punjab Weather Observed in the Past 24 Hours as of 8:30 am, August 6:
In the past 24 hours, as reported at 8:30 in the morning today, there has been a change of 0.2 °C in the average minimum temperature, which remains near normal in Punjab.

The lowest minimum temperature in the state was 22.7°C, recorded at Bhakra Dam IMDNAGAL (AWS).
Chandigarh received the highest rainfall in the state, with 24.2mm rainfall reported at Chandigarh airport.
