BSF Recovers More than 2.5 kg Heroin near Indo-Pak Border in Amritsar

AMRITSAR: The Border Security Force personnel deployed on the Indo-Pak border have recovered 2 kg 640 grams of heroin from the border village of Saido Ghazi in Amritsar district. The BSF has expressed the possibility that the heroin was dropped through a drone that entered from Pakistan late on Sunday night.
According to a BSF spokesperson, the Jawans were patrolling at the border in Sector Khasa, Amritsar. At around 10:25 pm on Sunday late night, the soldiers heard the sound of an object (drone) flying towards Saido Ghazi village from the Pakistan side. The jawans tried to stop the drone by firing in the direction of the sound. Immediately after this, senior BSF officials informed the officials of other agencies about this and cordoned off the entire area.
BSF officials along with officials of other intelligence agencies of the country conducted a search operation in the entire area on Monday morning. Late in the evening, BSF recovered two packets wrapped in yellow envelopes which contained about 2 kg 640 grams of heroin.
