Punjab Police identified 10 Associates of 'Waris Punjab De' chief, Amritpal Singh

CHANDIGARH: After the violent incident outside the Ajnala Police Station in Amritsar District, the Punjab Police has started an undercover operation. According to the information received, the Punjab Police has identified the 10 associates of 'Waris Punjab De' chief, Amritpal Singh, who stay armed with him 24 hours a day. Various arms are registered at their license. The police have issued notices to various district administrations seeking details of the weapons. After this, their licenses will be revoked as the arms were for the purpose of self-defence and it cannot be used by security personnel.

Notably, After the instructions, DC Faridkot has canceled the license of Gurbhaj Singh, resident of village Gondara Faridkot. Two weapons, a .32 bore revolver and a .315 bore rifle, were listed on the license of Gurbhaj Singh. According to DGP Gaurav Yadav, officials from DC Patiala, Faridkot, Moga, Sangrur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Samba and Kishtwar of Jammu and Kashmir are investigating this matter.

The license of Talwinder Singh (Tarn Taran), posted in Amritpal's security, is from Ramban (Jammu Kashmir). While Varinder Singh's license is from Kishtwar (Jammu and Kashmir). The details of the license is being investigated. Apart from these, the licenses of Ram Singh Brar (Kotkapura), Gurmeet Singh Bukkanwala (Moga), Avtar Singh (Sangrur), Harpreet Devgan (Patiala), Harjit Singh (Amritsar), Amritpal Singh (Taran Taran) and Baljinder Singh are likely to be revoked.
