Congress MP Highlights Urgent Need for Protocol as Chikungunya-Like Fever Grips Amritsar, Affecting Thousands

Gurjeet Aujla News

Gurjeet Aujla News: Gurjeet Singh Aujla, the Congress Member of Parliament from Amritsar, has drawn attention to the prolonged health crisis in his constituency during the ongoing winter session of Parliament. Auijla addressed the urgent need for a treatment protocol for a fever resembling Chikungunya that has persisted for six months in the Cheharta area. Despite negative Chikungunya test results, the community continues to suffer, with symptoms unabated.

Aujla expressed concern over the absence of a cure for this mysterious fever, leading to severe weakness and, in some cases, fatalities, particularly among the younger population. Emphasizing the gravity of the situation, he revealed that approximately two and a half lakh families in the constituency are grappling with the impact on their livelihoods, causing distress among the economically disadvantaged.

The MP pointed out that some medical professionals suspect a potential link to COVID-19, adding to the urgency of addressing the issue. Aujla lamented the lack of attention from the state government despite six months of persistent health concerns and submitted multiple letters seeking intervention.

Seeking immediate action, Gurjeet Aujla urged the government to form a specialized team to investigate the root causes and extent of the disease's spread. The health crisis has not only affected the well-being of the community but has also raised questions about the responsiveness of the state authorities to the health and welfare of its citizens.
