CHANDIGARH: The Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport (SBSIA), Chandigarh has recorded a maximum number of passengers as compared to the last 4 years. In 2022-23, Chandigarh Airport registered about 40% hike in number of passengers. Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport witness a large gathering of people on daily basis.

Notably, Chandigarh Airport has recorded the highest number of passengers during 2022-23. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Chandigarh International Airport , Rakesh R. Sahay said that there has been a 40 percent increase in the number of passengers compared to the last 4 years. Not only this, the number of flights has also increased in 2022-23.

He said that the authority is trying to further increase the number of passengers in 2023-24, for which the authority has planned to start flights to some new states. Along with this, 1 international flight may also begin in the winter schedule. The official said that in 2022-23, the maximum number of passengers have traveled in the months of March and May.
