Farmers vacate railway tracks after HC orders

Punjab and Haryana High Court

Chandigarh, 6th March'19: The organisations representing the protesting farmers have decided to take back their ‘Rail Roko’ protests after the intervention of Punjab and Haryana High Court. After the orders given by the High Court, the organisations responded with their decision of vacating the railway tracks so that the rail traffics could resume. The High Court has asked the Farmers to submit a letter to the Advocate General, with all their demands.

They will have to submit it within 24 hours. The court also directed the State Government to consider those demands and decide over them within 10 days. The railway commuters faced a lot of difficulty yesterday with the farmers blocking the main line from Amritsar-Delhi. The blockage caused a lot of trains to be cancelled and redirected.
