Punjab Weather Update Today: Dense fog along with cold waves continue to prevail over the state of Punjab as Gurdaspur recorded the lowest temperature in the state. India Meteorological Department had issued orange in alert in 10 districts of Punjab while yellow alert was issued in other districts of the state.

According to information, Punjab witnessed a slight rise of 0.1 Degrees Celsius in average minimum temperature. However, it is still near normal in the state. In the meanwhile, the minimum temperature in the state was recorded at Gurdaspur where the minimum temperature was recorded at 5.2 degrees Celsius.

No other district of the state recorded temperature more than Faridkot (AWS) which recorded 8.3. Likewise,  Chandigarh recorded 6.5 degrees Celsius while Chandigarh (Airport) recorded 7.5 degrees Celsius, Amritsar 5.9, Ludhiana 6.8, Patiala 6.3, Bathinda 6.4, Faridkot 6.5, Ballowal (SBS Nagar) 5.9, Amritsar (AWS) 7.2, Barnala 6.7, Samrala (Ludhiana) 8.1, Fatehgarh Sahib 6.2, Ludhiana 6.7, Mohali 7.1, Ropar 7.2, and Balachaur (SBS Nagar) 5.9. 

Punjab has been witnessing cold waves across various districts with almost all the districts seeing dense fog cover along with cold wave conditions. 

While Punjab has been witnessing dense fog during the morning and evening hours, several districts have started seeing sunrays during the afternoon hours.
