Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) state Kisan Wing on Saturday announced a compensation of rupees two lakh to the aggrieved family of Gajjan Singh from Khatra village (Samrala), who died due to the prevailing cold conditions during the farmers' movement.

In a statement from party headquarters on Saturday, state Kisan wing president and Kotkapura MLA Kultar Singh Sandhwan said that while precious lives of farmers were being lost due to freezing cold conditions and other mishaps, the haughty and hamstrung Modi government was not ready to shed its ego and hold hands of the farmers.

Kultar Singh Sandhwan has demanded that the Punjab and Haryana government should ensure full loan waiver to the families of the martyrs, compensation and a government job to member of family in the event of 'death' of any protester during the ongoing farmers' agitation.

The Kotkapura MLA said that the Kisan wing of the party had announced a financial aid of worth Rs two lakh to the aggrieved family of Gajan Singh who died during the agitation.

The party was extending all kinds of help to the struggling farmers, including 'langar', clean drinking water, medical facilities and availability of ambulances.
