Sit-In Protest Primarily Seeks the Release of Sikh Prisoners

Quami Insaaf Morcha

MOHALI: In a Recent Court Hearing, the Quami Insaaf Morcha was given an extension of four more weeks for their ongoing sit-in at the Mohali-Chandigarh border. The court's decision reflects its firm stance regarding the activities of the Front.

For the past eight months, the Quami Insaaf Morcha has been staging a sit-in protest on the Mohali-Chandigarh border. The sit-in protest primarily seeks the release of Sikh prisoners and justice for the desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji, a sacred scripture in Sikhism.

Notably, a decision was made by the Front's leaders yesterday to open one side of their protest site. However, Jagtar Singh Hawara's father announced that no route would be opened. Later in the evening, the police took the initiative to open one side of the protest site, leading to a tense atmosphere during the process.
