Punjab Weather Update: Monsoon slowed down in Punjab, will there be rain in coming days?

Punjab Weather Update Latest News Today: The pressure in the Bay of Bengal is affecting the monsoons of the entire North India. Due to the pressure, moist winds are not able to move towards Punjab. 

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), it is expected that there will be rain in Punjab on August 7 and people will get relief from the heat.

Notably, Punjab has not yet received a good amount of rain since August 1 due to which the temperature has started to rise again. On Sunday, the temperature was found to be around 0.2 degrees higher than the previous day. 
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this temperature is 1.9 degrees above normal while the temperature in the cities of Punjab has once again reached close to 40 degrees. The temperature of Fazilka was recorded at 39.7 degrees on Sunday. In such a scenario, if there is no rain in the coming days, the temperature will start rising again.

Punjab has received 40 percent less rain in this entire season so far. From June 1 to August 4, Punjab received 146.6 mm of rainfall, while Punjab should have received 242.9 mm of rainfall in these two months. Fatehgarh Sahib has received the lowest rainfall in the entire season. It has received only 70.6 mm of rainfall, while 271.3 mm should have been received in two months.

Similarly, there has been 71 percent less rain in SAS Nagar, 60 percent less in Rupnagar, and 64 percent less in SBS Nagar. Only four districts in Punjab, Pathankot, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, and Mansa, have recorded normal rainfall.
