IMD has issued several cautionary measures for the 10 districts where an orange alert has been issued.

Punjab Weather Update News: While Punjab has been witnessing bone-chilling cold with plunging temperatures across all the districts of the state, the India Meteorological Department has issued a warning in the state. According to information, IMD has issued an orange alert in 10 districts of the state. 

Reportedly, the orange alert has been issued in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, and Ludhiana. These districts are expected to witness dense to very dense fog along with cold days to severe cold days. 

Likewise, a yellow alert has been issued in Tarn Taran, Firozpur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga, Bathinda, Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur, Rupnagar, and SAS Nagar with only dense fog predicted in these districts. 

Similarly, the IMD has issued several cautionary measures for the 10 districts where an orange alert has been issued. The cautionary measures include being careful while driving or outing through any transport and using fog lights during driving.

It also asks people to be in touch with airlines, railway, and state transport for a schedule of the scheduled journey.

The power sector has also been asked to be ready with the maintenance Team. People have also been advised to avoid outings until unless emergency and to cover their faces while driving.
