Punjab Government recruits 32 candidates for 5 Ayurveda Hospitals

Chandigarh: To provide the holistic health care services across the state and to promote the AYUSH Systems, the Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu on Friday handed over the appointment letters to 32 newly appointed candidates under Nation Health Mission.

Giving details on the occasion, Sidhu said that 16 Ayurvedic Medical Officers, 8 Upvaids, 5 Masseuras, 2 Ksharsutra and 1 Istrirog Attendant have been recruited for 5 government Ayurveda hospitals namely Amritsar, Bathinda, Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Hoshiarpur.

He said that state government is committed to strengthen the Ayurvedic health services so that 137 Ayurveda Health and Wellness centers are being established in Punjab. In addition, 2 Ayurveda hospitals with the capacity of 50 beds are under construction in Mohali and Moga.

Director, Ayurveda Dr. Poonam Vasishta, OSD to Health Minister Balwinder Singh, Ayurveda Medical Officer Rajiv Mehta and other senior officers of Health Department were also present on the occasion.
