A major relief had come for teachers, students and school administrations as the Punjab government provided an extension of another academic session to nearly 2,200 state-affiliated schools in view of the difficulties faced due to coronavirus.
Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla has given exemption to these schools for another academic year.
The Education Minister said that all the schools would have to ensure the safety of the students during this increase. However, the number of Associated Schools has been extended till March 31, 2021.
Singla said the issue has been seriously considered by the education department in view of the situation created by the spread of the corona virus. The situation will be reconsidered after December 31, 2020. Schools that do not meet the set criteria will only be allowed to continue pre-primary classes from next semester.
