Lady Constable Amandeep Kaur Dismissed After Arrest in Heroin Possession Case, latest news: Lady Constable Amandeep Kaur (Belt No. 621/MNS) has been permanently dismissed from service following her arrest in a heroin possession case.
She was arrested on April 2, 2025, after 17.71 grams of heroin were recovered from a black Mahindra Thar SUV, which she was reportedly driving. The vehicle, bearing registration number PB 05 AQ 7720, has been impounded by the police.
The arrest was carried out by a team from Sadar Bathinda Police, led by Station House Officer (SHO) Anubhav Jain. Following the arrest, she was dismissed from service under Article 311 of the Indian Constitution by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mansa, Bhagirath Meena.
Police officials stated that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has issued clear directives to take strict action against police personnel found involved in drug-related offenses. In line with this policy, appropriate action was taken against Constable Kaur.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sukhchain Singh Gill said that an investigation into the assets of the accused is underway. If any illegally acquired property is found, it will be seized as per legal provisions.
Additionally, SSP Bathinda Amneet Kondal has been assigned to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
Before her arrest, Kaur was widely known on social media for flaunting a lavish lifestyle, with posts showing her in uniform alongside luxury vehicles and high-end accessories.
