PATHANKOT: 19-year-old Khushi Pathania of Turehti Village  in the district was awarded the General Bipin Rawat Trophy after being declared the best female Agniveer during the first passing out parade. Khushi Pathania was selected as SSR in Indian Navy about 4 months ago.

Father Santokh Singh said that Khushi has studied from Vaishnavi School till class V and from Auckland Public School Shahpur Kandi till Class 12th. She got selected in the Indian Navy during her second year of BSc Non Medical. Born in an ordinary family, Khushi Pathania is a very talented student since childhood.

Khushi's grandfather Subhash Pathania has given the credit of achievement to Khushi's father Santokh Singh Pathania and mother Sharda Devi. He said that Khushi Pathania along with her family has made the whole district and the state proud. People are reaching from far and wide to congratulate Khushi's family members.

Meanwhile, former Deputy Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Thakur Dinesh Singh (Babbu) also extended congratulations to the family. He said that this is a matter of pride for the entire Punjab. The daughter of a farmer family from a small village has been selected in the Navy. Not only this, Khushi has stood first after beating more than 3000 candidates.
