CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government has officially released the holiday schedule for the month of October, encompassing a total of 11 days of closure for educational institutions. Additionally, this month also presents multiple shutdowns for banks across the country, affecting various regions due to festivities and important occasions.

Educational Institutions:

During the month of October, schools in Punjab are set to observe a collective closure for 11 days, including weekends. This break encompasses Sundays and the second Saturday, allowing students and faculty members to enjoy a series of intermittent breaks.

Bank Closures:

Banks throughout the nation will witness several closures during October, affecting regular banking operations. The list of closures is as follows:

October 1, Sunday: Banks closed across the country.
October 2: Banks closed on Gandhi Jayanti.
October 8, Sunday: A Scheduled Holiday
October 14: Banks closed in Kolkata due to Mahalaya, and banks across the country closed for the second Saturday.
October 15, Sunday: Holiday
October 18: Banks closed across the country due to Kati Bihu in Guwahati.
October 22, Sunday: Holiday
October 24: Banks closed due to Dussehra, except in Hyderabad and Imphal.
October 25: Banks closed in Gangtok due to Durga Puja (Dashami).
October 26: Banks closed in Gangtok, Jammu, and Srinagar due to Durga Puja (Dashami)/Management Day.
October 27: Banks closed in Gangtok due to Durga Puja (Dashami).
October 28: Banks closed across the country, including Kolkata, for Lakshmi Puja and the fourth Saturday.
October 29: Banks closed nationwide.
October 31: Banks closed in Ahmedabad for Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary.
