PGIMER’s Peerless & Fearless team reiterates its commitment to win war of Covid-19

Chandigarh: “This time of turmoil and crisis of Covid-19 has proved that the real heroes in this fight are the health care workers. They are stretching way beyond to save the patients and give them another lease of life. Probably, I will never be able to truly put it into words just how grateful I am to the Covid-19 team of PGIMER, who have literally saved me otherwise I would have gone forever.”
Commemorating their victory over Covid-19, PGIMER team led by Prof. Jagat Ram, Director, and comprising Prof. G.D.Puri, Dean (Academics) & Head, Deptt. of Anaesthesia & Intensive Care, PGIMER, Prof. Arun Aggarwal, Deptt. of Community Medicine, Prof. Pankaj Malhotra, Deptt. of Internal Medicine and other senior faculty members, senior medics and paramedics were present, outside the Nehru Extension Block, dedicated Covid Hospital, applauding them and wishing them good health with flowers and greetings as they headed towards their homes in high spirits to re-unite with their families.
Prof. G.D. Puri, Dean (Academics) & Head, Deptt. of Anaesthesia & Intensive Care, PGIMER, while detailing about the recovery of these latest discharged persons, shared, “One of the persons, 56 years old resident of Dhanas, admitted on 17th April in PGIMER’s Covid Hospital, though had complications pertaining to Covid-19, but responded well to the treatment and remained stable throughout. Finally, with two consecutive tests coming negative, a pre-condition to declare cured for all Covid-19 patients, he was discharged.”
Though discharged from PGIMER, the cured patients will be home quarantined and monitored for 14 days as per the standard protocol to be followed by all Covid-19 patients.
