High Court Transfers Colonel Bath Assault Case Probe to Chandigarh Police, Latest News: On April 3, 2025, Punjab and Haryana High Court transferred the case of Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath to Chandigarh Police, forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to complete the probe within four months and submit the report. The Punjab Government and Colonel Bath's family approved the decision.

Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath, stationed in Delhi, was allegedly assaulted by Punjab Police officers on March 13-14, 2025, in Patiala over a parking dispute at a dhaba. His son, Angad Singh Bath, was also attacked, suffering a fractured nose, while Colonel Bath sustained a dislocated arm. The officers allegedly confiscated his identity card and phone and threatened him.

Despite immediate complaints, Punjab Police initially delayed registering an FIR, only acting on March 22 after pressure from the family. Dissatisfied with the investigation, Colonel Bath approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court, demanding a CBI probe.
On April 3, 2025, the High Court transferred the case to Chandigarh Police, forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to complete the probe within four months. The Punjab Government and Colonel Bath's family approved the decision.
