Punjab Weather Update: In a significant weather update, Punjab is currently grappling with an intensifying cold wave, disrupting normal life across the state. The Meteorological Department has issued alerts, cautioning residents to remain vigilant until at least 5th January.

The ongoing lack of sunshine in the region has exacerbated the cold wave, causing widespread inconvenience for the public. Highways are witnessing disruptions in traffic flow due to smog, while urban areas are experiencing disturbances in routine activities due to the chilling temperatures.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of a slight change in the weather pattern after 4-5 January. Yellow alerts have been issued for Pathankot, Ropar, and S.A.S. Nagar, while Fazilka, Muktsar, Faridkot, Sangrur, and other districts are under an orange alert, including Ludhiana, Amritsar, and Patiala. The alerts indicate that the cold wave is expected to persist, warranting increased precautionary measures.

Residents are advised to take heed of the warnings and make necessary preparations to cope with the harsh weather conditions. The Meteorological Department, Chandigarh, has also issued an advisory, urging people to venture outdoors only when absolutely necessary.
