Punjab Floods: MP Sandeep Pathak Donates Five Crore to Ferozepur, Punjab Donations Latest News: As Punjab is grappling with massive floods, something the state has not witnessed in the past 40 years, and with no assurance from the centre on a special package and not even on the Rs 60,000 crore pending, donations for the relief and rescue of the flood-affected people are pouring in. 

Today, some leaders of the state came together to make donations. MP Sangrur Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer donated 25 Lakh to Ajnala, a town in Punjab’s Amritsar district. 

Rajyasabha MP Ashok Mittal has donated 20 lakh. The area for which the donation was made is unknown. Rajyasabha MP Sandeep Pathak has Donated Five crores to Ferozepur for Flood Relief. Minister Ravjot has donated his 1 year entire salary for Flood Relief.
Yesterday, after getting no assurance on the special relief fund from the centre, Punjab Chief Minister Amit Shah made an appeal to Punjabis living in the state and those living across the world to come forward and make contributions to the Chief Minister’s Fund for the relief and rescue operations. 

Over 1000 villages are inundated, crops are underwater, loss of livestock, loss of human lives, connectivity is lost, and the situation is dire. 
His appeal came after speaking to Home Minister Amit Shah over a phone call in the morning yesterday.

It has been continuously raining in Punjab and in the adjoining areas  in the past few days, including in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, leading to overflowing of rivers, inundating villages along the rivers in Punjab. Several villages several kilometers away from some rivers are also inundated. 

Himachal Pradesh Declares the Entire State 'Disaster Affected'

Himachal Pradesh has declared the Entire State 'Disaster Affected'. Tt is also seeking a special relief fund from the centre. 

Tragic incidents are continuously being reported from across due to torrential rains and landslides, the chief minister of  the state, Sukhu, informed in a statement today. 

He said that in Kullu, the stream is in spate. Meanwhile, in Dhalpur, a woman was caught in a landslide. Two people were injured in Manali in a related incident. In Old Manali too, a stream is once again in spate. In Ani, a house was completely buried under a massive landslide.

Meanwhile, in Kinnaur, National Highway-05 has been closed due to a road caving in. A massive landslide from the hillside has also occurred in Gurudwara Colony. Rescue and relief teams are fully engaged and working round the clock.
CM urged people to exercise caution and follow the administration's instructions.

Flood Situation in Jammu and Kashmir

Yesterday, Home Minister Amit Shah paid a visit to the flood-affected areas in Jammu and assured full support.
