The Supreme Court on Thursday (March 2) reserved the verdict on Balwant Singh Rajoana's petition seeking commutation of Death Penalty on ground of delay in deciding his mercy plea.

Notably, Rajoana's advocate told the court that he was sentenced to death in year 2007 by the trial Court. Punjab and Haryana High Court confirmed it in 2010. Balwant Singh Rajoana has served around 27 years in jail and his mercy petition was filed in 2012 but the court still not decided the judgment.
