Chandigarh, February 2, 2019: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has vehemently  opposed the state government’s decision, making it compulsory to teach Mathematics and Science subjects at government schools in the state in English medium up to class 9th, saying the move would stunt the cerebral growth of the students.

In a press statement issued from the party headquarters in Chandigarh here on Saturday, chairman of the party’s core committee Principal Budhram said that the decision of the government was dictatorial and seems to have been taken in a utter hurry.  This also brings forth the non-serious face of the government towards the kind of education being imparted at government schools.

It is pertinent to mention here that the government, through a notification issued through the department concerned directing teachers of as many as 2100 government schools in the state to teach Mathematics and Science subjects in English medium from class 6th to class 9th, which had come as a shot of the sledgehammer for  teachers bodies, intelligentsia, men of letters and others, who have dubbed the move as a malicious design on the part of the government to derails the  shaky education set up, he said.

Principal Budhram further said that the move would, surely than not, badly impact the mental faculties of the students in the long run. He accused the captain Amarinder Singh government of colluding with the private players to derail the system and leveraging it in their favour. He urged the captain government to take an urgent call in the matter and review the decision mull over immediate roll back, thereby saving the future of teeming millions of students across the state from ruining.
