Chandigarh Weather Update

Chandigarh Weather Update: Chandigarh residents are in for an extended period of cold and fog, as the Meteorological Department forecasts no respite from the chilling temperatures over the next three days. With a maximum temperature of 12 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 9 degrees Celsius expected, the city is set to remain firmly in winter's icy embrace.

Persistent Cold and Foggy Conditions Anticipated

According to the Meteorological Department, Chandigarh witnessed a maximum temperature of 11.8 degrees Celsius on the previous day, a stark deviation of 6 degrees below the normal range. The minimum temperature, however, recorded at 9.2 degrees Celsius, stood two degrees above the average. The city is likely to experience light sunshine during the day, with dense fog posing challenges during the morning and evening hours.

Chilling Winds Continue to Sweep Through the City

The cold winds in the morning and evening have been identified as the primary contributors to the substantial drop in temperature. In a surprising turn of events, Shimla, known for its colder climate, recorded a higher maximum temperature of 15.5 degrees Celsius compared to Chandigarh's 11.8 degrees Celsius. The Tricity witnessed a minimal temperature difference of only 2.6 degrees Celsius between the maximum and minimum temperatures.
