Sugarcane Price Hike in Punjab News: In a significant victory for farmers in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced a substantial increase in the price of sugarcane, bringing relief to the agrarian community. The state government has took the decision to raise the sugarcane rate by Rs 11 per quintal, marking a successful resolution to the pressing issue.

Following deliberations between the Punjab government and farmers' organizations, a consensus was reached on the sugarcane rates for the year 2023-24. This development was preceded by discussions with sugarcane mill owners to ensure a fair and equitable decision. Consequently, the sugarcane price in Punjab has risen from Rs 380 to Rs 391 per quintal.

The impact of this decision is not only financial but also strategic, as Punjab's sugarcane rates now surpass those of neighboring Haryana by Rs 2. This positive development is expected to significantly benefit sugarcane farmers in the state.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann took to 'X' to share the news, expressing optimism for the future. He wrote  (In Punjabi) (Roughly Translated) , "11 rupees is a good omen in Punjab... Today the sugarcane farmers of Punjab are given a good omen by increasing the price by Rs 11. In the coming days, Punjabis of all classes will get good news. Your money, For You."
